Position Overview:
Room to Read’s Development Operations team (DevOps), a sub team of the Global Philanthropy Operations Team, is seeking a Development Operations Analyst to provide general administrative support with the primary responsibility of supporting gift processing and updating records in our fundraising and donor reporting database systems for our Asia Pacific (APAC) team, with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Japan. This position reports to the Director of Shared Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is not only interested in supporting our fundraising processes, but also excited about impacting positive change by recommending process improvements. This position is based in our Mumbai office and provides team support for the Asia Pacific offices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Gift Processing
Manage offline gift processing for Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Australia, including the processing of checks, bank transfers, and stock gifts; scanning all checks and backup information, reviewing and identifying correct coding, entering into fundraising software (Salesforce NGO Connect) and issuing receipts based on each market’s needs.   
Manage third party APAC gift in terms of importing and exporting for processing and reconciliation as well as routine updates and requests from vendors.
Assist with reconciling donations on a monthly basis with the Accounting team and attend monthly meetings.
Oversee corporate matching gift process, including matching gift file maintenance; research and confirm gifts to be matched; prepare and mail matching gift application forms; acknowledge matching gifts; follow up with matching gift donors as needed; enter data and provide reporting for matching gift pledges database.
Maintain accurate donor records in our Salesforce database, including importing of new records, cross-checking imported data. Provide remote database management support for events, managing registration and overseeing ticket payment.
Follow, review and enhance best practice guidelines for ensuring integrity of the APAC data records.
Data management of Salesforce database: monitor Chatter requests screen and de-duplicate records, perform mass updates for recoding donations when needed, update addresses, and overall ensure data quality.
Maintain APAC receipting compliance and donation remittance documents and update to keep current.
Monitor sustainer gifts to manage duplicates and other issues.
Collaborate with global team members on projects related to the database.
Generate reports from the database as requested.
Support the APAC audit processes by meeting with auditor and supplying all information required for audit investigations.
Other ad hoc duties, as necessary to support the APAC and DevOps teams
2.  Grants and Proposals Support:
Maintain accurate records of grant proposals and grant reports and help APAC fundraisers use grants administration and project allocation functions.
Input new records and maintain the allocation of literacy projects for APAC staff requesting funding opportunities for donors.
Support the APAC fundraisers in the development of donor reports. 
Track deadlines, required data, and honorific language related to funding opportunities for APAC donors.
Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably B.Com) with relevant work experience
A minimum of two years of work experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment preferably not for profit
Highly organized, strong attention to detail and results oriented
Strong written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to adjust communication style based on the audience
Adept at using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with databases and ability to continually learn new technology, database processes and procedures as needed
Comfort working with numbers and calculations

Participate in the district and state level discussions organized by government counterparts and advocate for RtR approach through developing good understanding of state curriculum, text books and various education projects/programs.

Provide technical assistance to schools in teaching-learning of reading and life skills by using instructional materials and make suggestions for improving quality and utilization of these materials.

S/he will also be responsible for developing a cadre of Master Trainers on early grade reading, library in district and will follow up with them in providing technical support as and when required.

Liaison with district education departments to explore opportunities for technical assistance and devise a plan for the same

Build a district level literacy network and make this as an advocacy event for early grade literacy.

Engage with print and electronic media to create visibility for Literacy as per communication policy.

Education:

Strategic support areas will include – structuring and managing the facility and developing the Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs), developing communication and advocacy strategy for the facility, coordinate for fundraising with large funders and liaison with similar efforts like PM Cares Fund, forecasting supply and demand needs, assist in developing service packages, provide quality assurance support as well as assist in developing robust performance and outcome metrics.
As part of the TSU, you will be responsible for:

• Forecasting the supply and demand-side needs for effective COVID-19 response
• Conduct need gap analysis of the NHA empanelled hospitals, other facilities dedicated to COVID-19 etc.
• Assessing the financial requirements for capacity expansion and testing facilities.
• Assist in developing differential packages and pricing them
• Assist in developing service packages and reimbursement mechanisms for the PM-JAY patients, other insurance covered patients, and patients paying directly out-of-pocket at point-of-service.
• Scan the market and coordinate with sector experts to identify potential recipients.
• Evaluate potential recipients for health safety and ethical standards.
• Ensure recipient interventions fulfil all necessary regulatory requirements
• Provide expertise in the design, management and evaluation of study protocols and health status questionnaires, sample selection and analysis.
• Support wide dissemination of available high-quality risk communication materials and guidelines for healthcare providers and communities through the public and private sector facilities empanelled under NHA.
• Provide foresight and ensure preparedness of the facility on other public health threats.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 10 years of experience in public health. Doctoral/Post Graduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or relevant field.
• Good knowledge on infectious diseases and related technology innovations
• Experience of working in epidemics and good understanding of current requirements under COVID-19
• A team player who is a fast learner, flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities, and able to work under pressure
• Excellent listening skills, patience, and engaging manner
• Demonstrated fluency in English

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Documentation Officer to support and streamline NISHTHA’s documentation
• Coordinate with the state program teams and collect relevant information for ensuring timely reporting including weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and any other donor requirement

The painful story of Corona - India Part 1

Big hunger from Corona / 12-year-old girl walking 100 km from Telangana, broke 14 km from her home in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh

• The situation was like starvation due to lack of work, so Jamlo wanted to return to Madkam village
• Jamalo's health deteriorated and was suffering from pain, but did not get treatment.
Bijapur Many people across the country have lost their jobs due to the lockdown. People who have gone to big cities want to return to their villages. In this situation, it is only dry and dry, but two times the ryoti can be found. For this reason, innocent 12-year-old walked from Perur village in Telangana to his village Aded in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The health deteriorated on the way, yet he completed the journey of about 100 km in three days. But just 14 km from her village, the girl died. He was accompanied by 11 other people from the village, but could not get any treatment through the forest.
The people together could tell that the girl had a stomachache. Jamalo Maddam of Bijapur's Aded village had gone to Perur village in Telangana two months ago in search of employment with some people from his own village. There he got the job of breaking chilies. Work stopped at the lockdown, they spent a few days there. Somehow arranged for food and drink. But after the lockdown was prolonged, the bread crisis was raised in front of them, then on 16 April, Jamlo and 11 other people of the village left from Telangana on foot for Bijapur. On the second day, Jamalo's health deteriorated, somehow on the 17th, the team had walked 100 kilometers to Bhandarpal village in Modakpal area on April 18 that Jamlo died. Jamalo was the only child of his parents.

The administration team reached the village after receiving the news of the girl's death. Other workers have been quarantined as a precautionary measure. When any of those people reached the village and reported the death of the only daughter, father Andoram Madakam and mother Sukmati reached the district hospital. After the post-mortem in Bijapur on Monday, Jamalo's body was handed over to the parents. Father Andoram said that he was waiting for his daughter to return, but news of her death reached home. All the people who came along are kept separate, so it is not even known what happened to the girl child.

CMHO Dr. BR priest said that the body of the child was brought to Bijapur as soon as the death of the girl was received. All the laborers traveling with him are quarantined. A sample of precautionary bodies was also sent for corona test. The report of which has come negative. It seems that the girl died due to lack of electrolyte imbalance. However, the reason will be known only after the PM report.
