Project
Capacity
Building Programme: Peepul’s Capacity Building Programme in collaboration with
the government aims to build the capacity, skills and mind sets of teachers to
teach more effectively and create a positive learning environment for students
in the classroom.
Key
Responsibilities
Responsible
for the academic progress for all the partnered schools.
Lead content
research and development for the training programme.
Lead
planning and facilitation of trainings modules for the teachers and principals
enrolled in the programme
Closely work
with the monitoring and evaluation team to measure programme’s impact.
Partner with
the government officials and act as an academic advisor to them.
Conduct
school visits with the principal and provide feedback to improve teachers’
performance.
Diagnose schools’
needs and mentor training team to improve learning outcomes.
Ensure
timely implementation of classroom observation with a strong focus on execution
and quality assurance – including data validity checks, analysis/
interpretation and editorial support.
Measure
team’s progress and determine areas of improvement to provide required support.
Support
evaluation procedures to ensure that assessment of teachers’ performance and
progress is accurate and reliable.
Adapt and
improve the structure and materials of training sessions based on feedback by
Training Lead and Education Director.
Produce
periodic reports of the training for internal use and for funder reports.
Closely work
with finance team to oversee training budget.
Plan and
execute training for capacity building team’s professional development.
Empower and
support the team to drive high-quality implementation of training priorities.
Person
Specification
Experience
Master’s
degree in education or a related field.
At least
8-12 years of total work experience, having spent at least 5-6 years in
teaching, training and content development.
Preference
will be given to candidates with NTT, B.El.Ed, B.Ed degrees or to alumni of
academic Fellowship programmes like Teach for India
Experience
of having worked successfully in at least one school in an urban,
multi-cultural setting, teaching students from backgrounds of socio-economic
disadvantage
Holistic
understanding of curriculum for students and teachers
Strong group
facilitation skills, particularly with large groups
Prior
coaching and mentoring experience in education sector will be preferred
